Scholarships and Funding

Success by 6, a program of the United Way of Northeast Florida operated by the Early Learning Coalition of Duval, provides 2-year early learning grants for 3-year-olds to high-quality, accredited childcare centers.  Success by 6 is a year-round program for families.  If you have a child who turns 3 on or before Sept. 1 of the current year you may be eligible.  When you apply for admission to Guardian Catholic, you will receive information regarding how to apply for Success by 6. Click on BLUE FIELD above for more information.

The state of Florida provides tuition, book and registration fees for children who are four years old by September 1.  Parents must apply to the Early Learning Coalition for VPK and bring the Certificate of Eligibility to Guardian Catholic to initiate enrollment.  The program is free to all Florida residents.  Click HERE for locations and directions to the ELC offices.  Call them at 904-208-2044; or visit their website at www.elcduval.org.  You can also register your child online at home or wherever you have access to the internet and a document scanner.  Log on to www.VPKDuval.org. See current year VPK Registration flier for more information. Click on BLUE FIELD above for more information.

The Florida Tax Credit scholarship provides tuition and fees assistance to families who qualify by income and are enrolling a child in kindergarten through grade 8. You will pay Guardian Catholic the difference between whatever SUFS pays for your child and the actual cost of Guardian Catholic’s tuition and book fees. Registration fee is not covered by SUFS. Parents apply directly to Step Up for Students for this scholarship. Parents must bring or email a copy of the Award Letter from SUFS to the school office. To learn more, please visit www.stepupforstudents.org; email info@sufs.org; or call 877-735-7837. Click on BLUE FIELD above for more information.

Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES)

Family Empowerment Scholarships are publicly funded scholarships to help lower and middle-income families send their child to a participating private school. Students must be entering Kindergarten or have attended a public school the previous school year or have recently been in foster or out of home care.  Family Empowerment Scholarship awards start with an application to Step Up for Students.

The Guardian is a privately-funded scholarship which provides  partial tuition assistance to families who do not qualify for any other scholarship but may still need financial help. Because these funds are limited, students who qualify for Success by 6, VPK or SUFS are not eligible for Guardian funding.  Click on BLUE FIELD above to apply for a Guardian Catholic tuition scholarship through FACTS Grant & Aid.

Guardian Catholic is a provider for Extended Day Care through the School Readiness Program and accepts reimbursement from the ELC. Apply online by clicking on the School Readiness Program link at www.elcduval.com.  Parents of PK3 and PK4 students can apply these funds to charges for the PK Wraparound services provided by the school from 11:30-3:00 pm on school days.

Champions, an approved provider of School Readiness services, conveniently provides after school care right on the Guardian Catholic campus from 3-6 pm each school day for PK3 through Grade 8. This program operates independently of the school.  Fee schedules are available on the Champions website.
