It was a day filled with pride for Guardian’s Metro Builders and Tech City robotics teams. On December 14 they participated in the qualifying tournament at Edward Waters College. Both teams qualified for the regional tournament! The Metro Builders received the Championship Award for being the top overall team at the tournament and Tech City was the number 3 overall team. The teams placed 1 and 2 in Robot Design. And to top it off, the Metro Builders won the Global Innovation Award. This award is a competition that showcases the real-world innovations that teams create as a result of their Projects; and it qualifies the team to continue in the competition that culminates in June. The winning team will receive a cash prize of $20,000 and two runner-up teams will receive $5,000 to use to extend the team's innovation or to support their robotics team program. The regional event takes place on February 29, 2020. Congratulations to GCS students for this outstanding accomplishment! And a very special thank you to our dedicated coaches Mrs. Techentien, Mrs. Toth and Mr. Schell. Go, Eagles!
